The ecological innovations for a better life

How can we live better? Entrepreneurs are constantly searching for ideas that could help us live better. Let’s pay attention to the new innovations that can transform our daily lives.

Pi-Pop: Battery-Free Electric Bikes!

The company STEE, an electronics company based in Olivet (Loiret), offers an electric bike that does not need to be recharged, thanks to the innovative technology of supercapacitors. This bike weighs 20 kilograms and incorporates supercapacitors, which store energy from the cyclist’s effort and deliver it as electrical assistance as soon as you need to push a little harder on the pedals. It’s a self-charging system. In a blue box placed at the rear of the bike, there is a device that captures the energy produced while pedaling. It stores it and can deliver it when electrical assistance is needed. STEE will start manufacturing an additional hundred units and plans to produce a thousand in a year. STEE has also partnered with the retailer Boulanger for the future distribution of its devices, which are sold at 1,995 euros.

Tesla Superchargers Installed in Casino Group Supermarkets and Hypermarkets’

 Parking Lots

The Casino Group will host Tesla Superchargers in the parking lots of its supermarkets and hypermarkets. The first station will be operational in the fall of 2022 in Annecy (Haute-Savoie). The Casino Group has 85 Géant Casino hypermarkets and 337 Casino Supermarkets. About thirty other stations are expected to be created in the future, according to the Casino Group. They will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will have between eight to twenty charging points allowing vehicles to be recharged at a power of 250 kW. Thus, Tesla Model 3 owners can charge their cars for 15 minutes and drive 275 kilometers.

But the interest is that not all superchargers are exclusively reserved for Tesla customers. 16 pilot stations out of the existing 100 accept electric vehicles from other brands since early February 2022. The Casino Group specified that “the terminals that will be put into service will indeed be multi-brand.” Superchargers are also installed in Vélizy 2 (Yvelines), Belle-Épine in Thiais (Val-de-Marne), and Le Mans (Sarthe). For the Casino Group stores, the goal is to offer a real service to their customers, looking for simplified and hassle-free electric mobility, while being able to shop in their Géant and Casino Supermarkets stores.

Will the Decarbonized Plane Take Off in Toulouse?

The 42 signatory states of the “Toulouse Declaration” on February 4 called on all partners worldwide to work together to achieve carbon neutrality as early as the 41st assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO, a UN agency) convened at the end of September. This “Toulouse Declaration,” launched under the auspices of the French presidency of the European Union, aims to encourage measures to achieve by 2050 an aviation sector that no longer contributes to global warming. The text is signed by 42 states, the 27 of the Union, but also notably the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Morocco, and Georgia. Dozens of organizations and companies, including airports, airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and energy companies, have also signed the declaration, according to French Transport Minister Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, who described it as a “historic moment.” Gathered in the French capital of aeronautics, home to Airbus among others, the signatories want countries at the ICAO to adopt “an ambitious long-term goal for international aviation, namely net zero carbon emissions by 2050.”
